China FAW Group Corporation, commonly referred to as FAW due to its original name of First Automotive Works, broke ground for its first factory on July 15, 1953. FAW produced China's first Jiefang commercial truck in 1956, and in the year 1958, China's first Dongfeng car and first Hongqi luxury sedan rolled off the production. Since then, FAW has been at the forefront of promoting China's automotive industry.
FAW has 16 wholly owned subsidiaries and controlling interest in 15 partially owned subsidiaries. FAW Group Corporation is headquartered in China's northern city of Changchun, Jilin Province.
FAW Group’s domestic production facilities, subsidiaries, and engineering development and test centers are located in 18 locations throughout China. Manufacturing plants are located in northeastern China's Jilin, Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces, eastern China's Shandong province and Tianjin municipality, southern China's Guangxi and Hainan provinces, and southwestern China’s Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. FAW vehicles are distributed by FAW Philippines, under the company Focus Ventures Inc. It was established in 2008, with a 3,500 sq.m. showroom located in Mandaluyong. Focus Ventures Inc. distributes the FAW Mini Truck (Multicarry), light duty trucks (Loadrunner and Powerloader) and heavy trucks such as the Tractor Head and the Dump Truck. Focus Ventures Inc. is a sister company of Focus Global Inc., a renowned marketing and distribution company of brands such as Coleman, Siematic, Tempur, Ethan Allen, Subzero, and Wolf.
