FAW or First Automobile Works is a subsidiary of China FAW Group Corporation, a leading vehicle manufacturer with 50 years of experience in the automotive industry. FAW has been in the forefront of China's motoring industry. In 1991, working in partnership with Volkswagen AG, FAW constructed a new state-of-the-art automobile factory with an annual production capacity in excess of 150,000 units. In 2002,  the Tianjin Automobile Industry (Group) Corporation was merged into the FAW 7 Group Corporation and began a joint venture production agreement with Toyota Motors Corporation.
